Experience what it means to be an agricultural expert in Costa Rica. In this course, you will spend time with Costa Rican university faculty members and technicians. You will learn from local agriculturalists and discover what sustainability means while living in one of the world’s leading countries for sustainable development. You’ll explore agribusiness and environmental issues in research farms and laboratories. You will also have the opportunity to improve your Spanish and learn about Costa Rica’s unique, rich culture and history. Students will end the course having gained a deep understanding of Costa Rica’s role in global agribusiness, enhanced communication and problem-solving skills and the confidence to embrace cultural differences. Beginner Spanish proficiency recommended.

Students will participate in a professional internship for 35-40 hours per week. All students are guaranteed an internship in their field of study or a related field. Internship details, placement information, and sample internships.
