Summer Internships in Spain - On Site

Engineering and Computer Science

Accommodations

You will live in shared apartments or student residence hall with access to a kitchen, common space, shared bathrooms and other facilities. Location and proximity to internships will vary based on individual placements. You should not have to commute more than one hour each way to your internship. All accommodations will have access to Wi-Fi and laundry facilities.

UC Davis may have to change the accommodation location and type. Should this be necessary, we will arrange alternative lodging. Please note that elevators, air conditioners, WiFi and other conveniences may not be available in all locations.

Accommodations for your program may include same-gender or mixed-gender housing and rooms may be shared with one or more students. You may request a roommate, and we will do our best to consider mutual requests when making housing assignments and/or sharing them with our program partners. However, please note that roommate requests cannot be guaranteed, as housing arrangements depend on availability and local accommodations.

Meals

Other than the welcome dinner and farewell dinner, no meals are included for students staying in apartments or residence halls. You will need to prepare your own meals. There will be grocery stores near all accommodations.

Excursions & Activities

Short excursions and day trips will be included as part of the program. Past excursions and activities have included:

  • Two day-long excursions outside of Barcelona
  • “Working Across Cultures” workshop
  • End-of-program career workshop
  • Weekly cultural and social activities

Get to Know Your Destination

Barcelona is one of Europe’s most popular cities, and with good reason. The historic capital of Catalonia is packed with galleries, museums, historical attractions and places to eat. Set between the mountains and sea, it’s a buzzing and vibrant city, celebrated for its unique architecture, famous artists and city beaches.

Study Abroad Advisory of Student Risk

Participation in this UC Davis Study Abroad program requires travel to and extended living in a foreign location(s) abroad. UC Davis Study Abroad endeavors to reduce and mitigate risk wherever possible.  However, the environments and risks associated with living in these locations are substantially different than those found during a regular course of study at UC Davis. All participants must download and review the following information prior to departure. Any questions should be directed to the Program Coordinator.
