Eligibility

This program is open to students who meet the eligibility requirements.

Prerequisites

The Quarter Abroad Program in Florence allows you to complete one year (at levels 1 or 2) of Italian language, as well as other electives. This is an intensive program and dedication to language study is consequently a must. 

Beginner

No Italian coursework may be taken before the program begins. Exception only by approval from faculty leader.

Intermediate

Completion of ITA 3 (or the equivalent* of 3 quarters/2 semester of University level Italian) at the time the program begins.** 

*Equivalents may include: AP credits, a placement exam into ITA 4, or an interview with the Faculty Program Leader if you are a native speaker of Italian.

**Prerequisites cannot be completed during the summer prior to departure.
