Summer Abroad Thailand - Travel

The "Climate Resilience in Thailand" program includes pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires participants to arrange their own travel and obtain necessary visas, provides airport transfers and local transportation for activities, offers GeoBlue Global Health Insurance, and supports LGBTQIA+ travelers with relevant resources.

Claire Napawan is an Associate Professor and Director of the Landscape Architecture + Environmental Design Program, housed within the Department of Human Ecology. She is also an architect, landscape architect, urban designer and academic who has designed and studied urban environments for over 15 years.

Each UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship program pairs UC Davis Study Abroad with a partner organization that manages the personalized internship placements; arranges accommodations and excursions; leads onsite orientations and optional social events; and provides 24/7 emergency support.

Education Internships

Each UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship program pairs UC Davis Study Abroad with a partner organization that manages the personalized internship placements; arranges accommodations and excursions; leads onsite orientations and optional social events; and provides 24/7 emergency support. As part of the placement process for Summer Internships, participants will first enroll through UC Davis Study Abroad and then complete a supplemental application for the partner organization associated with their particular Summer Internship program.

Summer Internships in Thailand - Travel

The study abroad program includes pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires students to arrange their own travel, provides visa guidance (none required for U.S. citizens), and offers insurance and additional resources for international and LGBTQIA+ travelers.

Summer Internships in Thailand - Cost

The program fees cover lodging, select meals, internship placements, transportation, orientation activities, and health insurance, while additional costs such as airfare and some meals are not included.

Summer Internships in Thailand - On Site

Students will stay in shared dorms with varying amenities between Chiang Mai and the Elephant Nature Park, with most meals provided during rotations and at the park.
