Summer Abroad Mexico - Cost

The Building Sustainable Water Treatment Systems program covers shared dorm accommodations, provided breakfasts and lunches, transportation, excursion fees, and health insurance, while students are responsible for airfare, non-program meals, personal travel, and other expenses; financial aid is available, but final program fees are subject to change.

Summer Abroad Mexico - On Site

The Building Sustainable Water Treatment Systems program includes shared dorm accommodations, provided breakfasts, a welcome and farewell meal, site visits to wastewater treatment plants and cultural excursions to places like Fundidora and Barrio Antiguo, with additional meals and personal expenses being the student's responsibility, while participants are advised to review safety risks and student blogs for insights into the experience.

Quarter Abroad Mexico - Cost

The Latinx Health Internship in Oaxaca program offers financial aid eligibility for UC Davis students, with program fees that vary by cohort and do not include airfare or personal expenses; students will experience homestays with local families, receive two daily meals, participate in cultural excursions, and benefit from comprehensive support, including health insurance and clinical rotations, while navigating additional personal expenses.

Quarter Abroad Mexico - Travel

The Latinx Health Internship in Oaxaca includes a pre-departure and on-site orientation, with students responsible for travel arrangements; entry requirements include a valid passport and, for non-U.S. citizens, a visa, while participants are covered by GeoBlue Global Health Insurance and LGBTQIA+ support is available.

The Latinx Health Internship in Oaxaca program offers accommodations with local families in Oaxaca City and Puerto Escondido, includes two daily meals typically prepared by hosts, features excursions for lectures and clinical visits related to health concerns, and provides students with resources to navigate local dining options while immersing them in Mexico's rich cultural and historical landscape.

Natalia Deeb-Sossa, born in Bogotá, Colombia, is a Professor of Chicana/o Studies at UC Davis, conducting research on women's reproductive rights activism in the US and Mexico, supported by the 2022 Chancellor’s Fellowship for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
