The UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship program offers various financial aid options, with program fees covering shared accommodations, meals, cultural activities, and internship placements, while personal expenses such as airfare, daily transport, and entertainment are not included and may vary.

Melissa Bender, a Continuing Lecturer at UC Davis with a Ph.D. in English and an MFA in Fiction Writing, has over 25 years of experience teaching writing and has authored multiple works while leading numerous study abroad programs in Europe and the U.S.

Participants will stay in single rooms within furnished apartments in Barcelona, enjoy a welcome dinner, and have the opportunity for various cultural activities and workshops while being prepared for living and working in Spain, all under a comprehensive risk advisory.

UC Davis Summer Abroad Spain offers students the opportunity to earn units over the summer through immersive coursework, enhanced by local excursions, guest lectures and reflective assignments.

Eligible students can use financial aid for UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship programs, which have variable fees and expenses, including accommodation, meals, and personal costs, while program fees cover lodging, meals, airport transfers, cultural activities, and support services.

The program offers orientation, requires U.S. citizens to obtain a passport and Student Visa, provides health insurance, and encourages LGBTQIA+ travelers to explore resources about the host culture, while students handle their own travel arrangements and on-site transportation.

Participants will stay in furnished shared residences in New Zealand, enjoy included meals and excursions, engage in cultural activities, and receive support from on-site staff while adapting to the local environment and gaining professional development skills.
