Each UC Davis Summer Abroad Internship program pairs UC Davis Study Abroad with a partner organization or university that manages the personalized internship placements; arranges accommodations and excursions; leads onsite orientations; and provides 24/7 emergency support. As part of the placement process for Summer Internships, participants will first enroll through UC Davis Study Abroad and then complete a supplemental application for the partner organization associated with their particular Summer Internship program.
Program fees cover shared housing, meals (except on free days in San José), excursions, airport transfers, health insurance, internship placement, and support, while personal expenses like airfare, some meals, and personal travel are not included.
The study abroad program includes pre-departure and on-site orientations, requires students to arrange their own travel, provides visa guidance (none required for U.S. citizens), and offers insurance and additional resources for international and LGBTQIA+ travelers.
