The UC Davis Global Learning Conference strives to offer a balanced and informative conference that engages students with their global learning experiences in a way that is both reflective and forward thinking.

The proposal selection committee will include sessions spanning a variety of topics. We are looking for session proposals with a global focus on career preparation, reflection, adaptation, and connection. Sessions may also include helping students reflect on their experiences with global learning as related to their personal identities, academic experiences, and career interests, connect global learning with career development, and focus on awareness and the solving of global challenges.  

Note: Global learning at UC Davis is a combination of local, regional, national, and international experiences through which students develop key skills, knowledge, and networks that help them build global awareness, engage with diverse cultures and experiences, and pursue collaborative and equitable global action. Session Details

All concurrent sessions will be for 55 minutes each.

Preferred Session Category

Utilizing the options below, please indicate one session category that best fits your proposal session. We recognize that proposals may integrate more than one session category, but we ask that you select the one that most resonates with your session.   

Awareness and Adaptation

Sessions focused on awareness and adaptation may include acknowledgment of a constantly-changing world and creative skill building during periods of significant change or disruption. Examples include living abroad and navigating cultural differences in a variety of spaces and locations

Connection and Impact

Connection and impact sessions may include a focus on ways of building impactful relationships with others in a global world and sustaining connection across distance.  Examples would include working together with partners in academic, personal, or professional settings to positively contribute to the global community

Career Preparation

Career preparation sessions may include a focus on identifying the career skills gained from global experiences and ways to continue developing them; incorporating global learning on resumes and in interviews; and preparing for opportunities after graduation such as future career development and global contributions.

The UC Davis Global Learning Conference is a one-day, in-person conference on Saturday, April 6, 2024. We will offer conference sessions at the following times: 11 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–2 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. If selected to lead a session, do you have any time constraints that we should know about?
