Study Abroad Spotlight

UC Davis Study Abroad is committed to promoting access to study abroad for students of color.  Studying abroad can be a great way to explore a passion, enhance your resume and see the world.  It can also be an opportunity to explore how people of color are treated in different countries.   

While many students of color study abroad without incident, as in the U.S., perceptions of your identity may vary from what you are used to.  You may experience unexpected or more intense instances discrimination.  Understanding your host country’s cultural and social climate can better prepare you to for such experiences and provide you with appropriate response strategies.
