British Culture and Internships in London

Spend spring quarter in the heart of London! Intern in a field of your choice and take two upper-division English courses: “Dark London,” taught by a UC Davis Professor, explores magical, mysterious, and macabre representations of London, starting with J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. Then Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens, Mary Prince, and others address Crime, Death, Fog, Slavery, Dark Drinks (Coffee, Tea, Chocolate), and more. A second course focuses on contemporary “British Life and Culture.” Fulfill your requirements for GE Writing Experience, Arts and Humanities, and World Cultures, as well as for the English major and minor. Take classes in fashionable Kensington and participate in a professional internship for 20 hours a week. Excursions in and outside of London are also an integral part of the program.
