British Culture and Internships in London
Arrive Date: TBD End Date: TBD
Spend spring quarter in the heart of London! Intern in a field of your choice and take two upper-division English courses: “Global London,” taught by a UC Davis professor, explores how poems, plays, novels, and films represent the British’s capital’s relation to the rest the world, focusing on London as the administrative center for the British empire, as an “emporium” for colonial imports and other foreign consumer goods, as a host to foreign travelers, and as a multi-lingual city of immigrants. A second course focuses on contemporary “British Life and Culture.” Fulfill your requirements for GE Writing Experience, Arts and Humanities, and World Cultures, as well as for the English major and minor.
