Enrollment & Operations Officer
I come from a family of travelers and adventurers, and after spending my childhood in Japan, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, I left the chilly East Coast for sunny California, where I received a BA in International Development & Cultural Change, and French Language & Literature from University of the Pacific’s School of International Studies. My travels have been extensive and varied, as I follow my general rule to never say no to an opportunity for adventure!
I started my traveling life by participating in a summer exchange/volunteer program in Ghana while in high school, and then spent an academic year in college studying abroad in Senegal. My college study abroad experience in particular was a real challenge, given the drastically different academic and social norms, coupled with my imperfect French language skills. That year of studying abroad was a truly life changing experience, and I ultimately fell in love with Senegal and left with lifelong friends, greatly improved language skills, and a new perspective on the world and my place in it.
Since graduating, I have taught English in South Korea, traveled to over 20 countries, and driven cross-country from Massachusetts to California. I've seen several “wonders of the world,” but always come back to the personal interactions that I have had in all of my travels as the most impactful and unforgettable aspects of my international experiences.
Realizing how transformative my own study abroad experience was for me and how much it helped shape my first few post-college years has led me here to UC Davis Study Abroad, to help other college students have a similarly transformative experience. I truly believe that travel is for everyone, and can and will enrich your life!
