Global Learning Showcase - Postcard

You're Invited!

Are you interested in exploring the many global learning opportunities available across UC Davis? Come to the Global Learning Showcase to learn about study abroad, global internships and research, community engagement, global leadership, and much more! 

Hosted by the Global Learning Hub and the Internship & Career Center, the Global Learning Showcase is intended to inform students about opportunities to study, work, intern, and research in areas all over the world—including virtually, on campus, and in the local community. 

  • When:  Monday, October 26 – Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Times vary, but most sessions will be between 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Where:  Virtual

At the Global Learning Showcase, students can:

  • Talk with globally engaged students about their experiences.
  • Discuss with advisors programs that will meet individual needs.
  • Chat with Financial Aid representatives about scholarships and financial aid availability.
  • Remotely attend various workshops, presentations, and panels.
  • Learn why it’s important to be globally engaged.

Showcase Schedule

Sessions will be finalized during the month of September; a schedule will be shared at that time.

Monday, October 26: Understanding Global Learning, Identity, Skills & Leadership

Sessions may include:

  • What is Global Learning and Why is it Important?
  • Panel of Globally-engaged Students
  • Global Learning and Your Identity
  • Overview of Opportunities to Engage Interculturally on Campus
  • Overview of Global Skills & Leadership Programs

Tuesday, October 27: Study Abroad

Sessions may include:

  • Overviews of UC Davis Faculty-led Programs
  • UC Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)
  • Study Abroad & Away Opportunities with Other UC Campuses
  • Enrollment Advising
  • Financial Aid Advising
  • Scholarships Overview
  • Popular Independent (Non-UC Davis) Study Abroad programs

Wednesday, October 28: Internships, Research, and Community Engagement

Sessions may include:

  • Virtual Internships and Virtual Community Engagement
  • Blum Center: How to Engage with a Community to Help Alleviate Poverty
  • Research Opportunities at Home and Abroad

Some sessions will be recorded and made available on YouTube after the event concludes.
