Hi! My name is Nikki Zanchetta and I will be a senior at UC Davis in the 2016-17 school year. I am a Community and Regional Development major, with a minor in Professional Writing.
I have always had strong wanderlust and the desire to experience new cultures. As a junior in high school I had the opportunity to travel to Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, and Poland) with my history class. Although it was an amazing trip, it left me only wanting more, which is where UC Davis Study Abroad came in. During the summer of 2016 I decided to study abroad for 4 weeks in Barcelona, Spain. Not only did I get to eat tapas and go to the beach, I was able to see some of the extraordinary architectural of Gaudí and learn about Barcelona’s world renowned urban planning systems, all while receiving academic credit that directly applied to my major. Besides my time in Spain, I had the chance to make weekend adventures to Rome and London with my classmates.
Study abroad allowed me to turn the world into my classroom. Not only did I get to go on the trip of a lifetime, but I also made lifelong friends and gained new levels of confidence and independence that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
Come into the Study Abroad office and learn how to get started on your next adventure!
